I held off reviewing this to give it time. So I’ve been taking this for around three months every morning in my coffee. I e never used a collagen supplement before and I’m 52. I would say there is no taste but there is a difference but it’s incredibly subtle. It’s as if you’ve used powdered creamer in your coffee. Just slightly different against one without. It’s has absolutely no detrimental to the coffee and it’s pleasant. On to the benefits. Since turning 50 I’ve noticed the fine lines on my face increase. And didn’t like it, hence trying collagen. This product has made a difference and I notice that they are not as noticable, somewhat smoothed out. My skin just looks better. The surprise benefit which can only be due to this is my pelvic floor has improved, no little accidents when I sneeze!! Now I’m rubbish at doing pelvic floor exercises so it can only be due to the collagen. This has made me so happy. I shall not be without it now. I hope it is as good for you as it has turned out for me. I can’t recommend it enough.Edited- I absolutely forgot to say that this collagen has made a big difference to my joints. I am up and down a lot in my job as a veterinary nurse. My joints are a whole lot less painful and achey; especially my hips and knees. This stuff is brilliant!!

I've been using for 6 months so here's my review.My skin has become much smoother and softer, nails and hair tend to grow quicker and my facial skin tone has evened out.Please don't listen to any nonsense around this affecting hormones or causing "bleeding", that's complete rubbish and the independent studies prove this.This is simply a collagen peptide which isn't broken down in the gut and is therefor available for use by the body.After 6 months daily use i can definitely tell the difference in my skin tone.

Love this stuff. I really hate protein powders and so I use this collagen powder instead. I have it every morning in my smoothies, protein shakes, yoghurt or porridge etc. I did once try it in a cup of tea and I wasn't keen on the taste. It wasn't strong but definitely different to a normal cup of tea. So instead, I choose to have it in my breakfast. I've noticed my nails are a lot stronger (and faster growing) and my hair seems to grow quickly which has been a nice surprise. I wasn't taking this for hair and nails initially, I purely wanted it for protein but it's an added bonus.It dissolves quickly and easily. I've also found that my skin isn't breaking out in my luteal phase (like it used to) since taking this- could be coincidence but I'm sold anyway so will continue to buy! (For reference, I've been taking this full dose everyday for about 2 months. Initially I didn't notice any change, I'd say you need to take it consistently for over a month to notice a difference if you're taking it for hair, skin and nails.)

I was recommended this by a friend and thought I'd give it a try. As a man past his mid-fifties, I'm increasingly interested in trying to maintain my health. This collagen powder dissolves easily in my morning cuppa and has a very mild taste, certainly not affecting my tea to any extent. I've been taking it for about six weeks now and I've noticed a difference when doing the pinch test on the skin of the back of my hand. It rebounds significantly quicker now which I assume is a good sign. And at £19.99, it seems a reasonable expense.

I have been using hydrolysed collagen peptide products for general joint and skin maintenance, rather than to treat any specific problem. Hence I haven't given a pain relief rating. There are a large number of brands currently on the market of which I've tried more than half a dozen now. Maybe a number of them are actually sourced from the same production lines and only differ in their packaging and branding. There doesn't seem to be a vast degree of difference in the products or their amino acid profiles. The price certainly varies considerably but the consumer experience rather less so. The big brand American imports are expensive and not noticeably better than UK or European sourced collagen products. I guess you pay a premium for their research and the importation shipping costs. Although all brands make a point about being unflavoured or having a 'neutral' taste, its fair to say that they all do have that characteristic slightly stale bovine collagen taste to at least some degree. The very nature of the product presumably makes that unavoidable. The Wellgard is 'OK' in that respect - its not my absolute favourite tasting brand, but certainly tastes no worse than most others I've tried, and seems to dissolve just as easily. In most flavoured drinks, such as coffee for instance, you really don't notice the collagen taste anyway. In terms of clinical efficacy, it seems unlikely that there would be a great deal of difference between the competing brands, so whether or not Wellgard's product actually works any better because of its slightly different amino profile is anyone's guess. However the obvious advantage lies in that it is a well packaged, well presented product coming from the UK, and offers much better value for money than comparable brands imported from overseas.
